Celeste Yanez, 7, thanks Gutierrez for sharing her family’s story of divorce because Yanez’s family is going through it now. “She said I have helped her get through it and she just wanted to say thank you,” Gutierrez says. “That is the best feeling in the world.”

The artwork on the wall depicts her family, from whom Gutierrez says she gets her inspiration and motivation, left, as well as a reflection on when she was younger and witnessed her mother being abused. “I like to draw about personal experiences because I’m not the only one that goes through these things,” Gutierrez says. “I want to show kids that they are not alone.”
