Dorothy is a visual journalist and photo editor based in Washington D.C.. Previously she was the photo editor at Crosscut, a non-profit news organization in Seattle, and a photojournalist at the Naples Daily News and USA Today Network in Florida. Dorothy graduated in May 2015 from Western Kentucky University with a degree in photojournalism.

She was born in Florida and grew up mostly in the Southeast, with the majority of her life spent in Kentucky. Some of her favorite things include hiking and kayaking with her wife and dog, rollerskating, live music and a good bowl of mac 'n' cheese.

Recognitions include: 2020 Emmy nomination for a short documentary following the impacts of COVID-19. 2020 Local Independent Online News (LION) Award for Best Coverage for Underserved Communities. 2019 Society of Professional Journalists awards for Feature Photography and Portrait Photography. 2018 News Media Alliance Rising Star Award. 2018 Naples Press Club Young Journalist Award.
